Quizy is a voice trivia game. This page says what the game handles, in plain words.
While a turn is live, microphone audio streams to our server and on to a speech-recognition provider (Deepgram) to hear your answer. Which of Deepgram's regions hears it follows the server you are on, described under “Where and who” below: European players are recognised on Deepgram's European servers, US, Canadian and Mexican players on Deepgram's US servers. We do not keep the audio and never write it to disk. We keep the text the recogniser produced and timing measurements about the turn, because that is how we find and fix wrong verdicts.
Some of what the host says is improvised by a language model. On those turns we send Anthropic (a US provider) the state of the turn — including the text of what the recogniser heard and the player name you typed — so the host can react to you by name. The model writes words, never scores or verdicts. The host's spoken lines are synthesised by ElevenLabs, so text containing player names (“over to you, Anna”) goes there too. Neither provider receives audio.
Apart from the two timers named above, nothing here is deleted on a schedule. It is kept until you ask us to delete it, which is what the next section but one is for.
No advertising, no tracking across other apps or sites, no selling or sharing of data for marketing, no profiles beyond your scores.
The app's settings include “delete my data”. It erases your history on the spot and registers your device as never-store-again, so playing on does not quietly rebuild what you deleted. Three things it does not reach, said plainly:
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the law gives you rights over your data, and they apply here:
Write to support@quizhost.ai and we will answer within a month. There is no charge.
We handle this data because we need it to run a game you asked to play (and, for purchases, because the law says to keep the records); we keep answer text and timings because fixing wrong verdicts is what makes the game work; and we take diagnostics only when you say yes.
Quizy runs on two servers, and your App Store country decides which one holds your data. If your App Store account is in the United States, Canada or Mexico, your data is on a server in the United States. Everyone else is on a server in Helsinki, Finland. It is your store country that decides this, not where you happen to be driving, and it is settled once when you first open the app.
The two servers do not share data. That is deliberate — it is what keeps European players' data in Europe — but it has a consequence worth knowing: if you move between store countries, a fresh install starts you over rather than carrying your history across.
Speech recognition is Deepgram, in the same region as your server. The host's improvised lines come from Anthropic (US), the host's voice from ElevenLabs, and purchases and sign-in from Apple.
If you are on the Helsinki server, your game data stays in the EU. Two things still leave it: the turn text and player name sent to Anthropic for the host's improvised lines, and the text sent to ElevenLabs to be spoken. Both providers are in the United States.
Each transfer is covered. Anthropic and Deepgram act under the Standard Contractual Clauses in their data processing agreements with us; ElevenLabs is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Write to support@quizhost.ai for a copy of those terms.
Quizy is made and run by VOCO AS, Asker, Norway, which is the data controller for everything on this page, on both servers.
Privacy questions, and any request to see or delete what is held, go to support@quizhost.ai. Deleting your data needs no email at all — it is a button in the app's settings, and the support page lists the rest. If you are in the EU or the UK and think we have got this wrong, you may complain to your national data protection authority; in Norway that is Datatilsynet.
